General Warranty Provisions

Warranty coverage is offered only to the original owner. If the warranty card or proof of purchase is not received, the warranty begins the date the Amigo was shipped.

The warranties on this page do not cover the failure of any part or accessory due to:

  • Shipping damage
  • Abuse, misuse, accidental damage, or acts of nature.
  • Exceeding the specified weight capacity of the model
  • Improper installation or opening sealed components.
  • Any failure caused by modifying the Amigo, or installing accessories not authorized by Amigo.

 Warranty Coverage:

Amigo will repair or replace a part that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use. Amigo may use factory-remanufactured parts rather than new parts for some warranty repairs. Warranty replacement parts are covered for the remainder of the Amigo Unit Warranty. Amigo covers Labor warranty at the Factory Headquarters in Bridgeport, MI for the first (60) days of ownership. Freight charges are not included under the labor warranty.

  • Structural components – Platform, Frame & Seat Post have a 7-year warranty.
  • Main components – Controller, Charger, Motor and Transaxle have a 2-year warranty.
  • Seats & other components have a 1-year warranty (Cuts & tears in seats are not covered by warranty)
  • Batteries supplied by Amigo are warranted for six months. AMI factory-supplied batteries carry Amigo brand labels.
  • Damage caused by battery moisture, spillage, or leakage is exclusive of warranty.
  • AMI is obligated to repair or replace products / parts returned by the purchaser, and found to be defective under warranty at our headquarters in Bridgeport, Michigan.
  • If inspection determines that a returned part or unit is fully functional or inoperable due to a non-warranty nature, it will be returned at the expense of the owner.
  • Parts purchased separately from the original unit, or rebuilt units carry a one (1) year warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

 Customer Satisfaction:

Your complete satisfaction with your Amigo is our main goal. If you are not satisfied with any maintenance or repair work done by a dealership, follow these two steps:

Step 1 – Review your concerns with the dealership’s management, such as the Service Manager or General Manager. In most cases, a satisfactory solution is found at this step.

Step 2 – We recognize that, on some occasions, a customer will not be totally satisfied with a dealer’s decision or actions. If this is the case, you should write Amigo Customer Service at the below address.

  • Serial number of your Amigo
  • Name of the dealer who sold you the Amigo, include city and state
  • Date and reason for each visit to the dealership

The staff of Amigo Customer Service is committed to working with you and the dealership to find a satisfactory solution.

This warranty supercedes and is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, and no person, agent or dealer is authorized to give any warranties on behalf of AMI, nor to assume for AMI any other liability concerning any of its products unless made in writing and signed by an official of AMI.

This warranty gives you specific rights, with the possibility of other rights, which vary depending upon your locality.

TERMS AND POLICIES LIMITED WARRANTY

This Limited Warranty is extended to the original purchaser/user and cannot be transferred. All ConvaQuip products are warranted for One Year against defects and workmanship. Parts and labor are warranted for 90 days.

Defective products or parts will be repaired or replaced by ConvaQuip or its appointed agent. The warranty does not cover damaged caused by misuse or negligence, nor does it cover defects or damages by use of parts or service by an unauthorized person. All freight for returned products is the responsibility of the customer, including Warranty work.

Warranty does not cover products damaged in shipping. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect the delivery upon arrival. Should damages exist, report it immediately to the carrier. The carrier will be responsible for repairing or replacing the product. Failure to report these damages upon delivery could result in a loss to customer. All warranty work will require Model and Serial number.

ORDERING: Order any Model or Part number specifying product name and quantity. Orders will not be invoiced to Medicare, Medicaid or any other Insurance Company. All orders require a hard copy Purchase Order and Number before order will be processed.

SHIPPING: All shipments are FOB origin unless otherwise approved by management. All shipments will be shipped the most economical method unless purchaser requests otherwise and absorbs additional freight charges.

SERVICE: All service issues will be the responsibility of the dealer (brick & mortar), institution, individual purchaser or internet based companies. ConvaQuip will provide parts, as long as they are available, to make necessary repairs for products sold by ConvaQuip. ConvaQuip is not responsible for supplying parts should the original manufacturer go out of business. 

CREDIT/RETURNS: All returns must be pre-approved in advanced and in writing by ConvaQuip and Return Authorization form must be returned with product as well as Return Authorization Number clearly marked on outside of all packaging to insure proper credit. Any return without a RA number clearly marked on the box will be refused. Send all returns Freight Prepaid. Customer is responsible for freight when returning product. Items returned COD will be refused. Restock Fee for all items is 20%. Used or altered items will not receive any credit. ConvaQuip reserves to right to refuse a refund after 60 days.

FREIGHT DAMAGE: The carrier who delivers our merchandise to you is responsible for loss and damages. Acceptance of the shipment by you is acknowledgment that all items were delivered in good condition. Therefore, all claims for loss or damage must be filed immediately with the "FREIGHT CARRIER". Then notify us as well. We will mark our records accordingly.

WARRANTY:    KARMAN WHEELCHAIR LIMITED WARRANTY

This warranty is extended only to the consumer, original purchaser and does not cover commercial use (such as rental or institutional use) and is not transferable. Karma warrants KM-3520F / KM-802F / KM-8020F / KM-8020Q / KM-8520F / KM 5000 / KM-9020F / KM-9020L / S-ERGO 105 / S-ERGO 115 / S-ERGO 305 for limited lifetime (Including cross braces, side frames,), from the date of purchased. All components except the main frame mentioned above including bearings, back and seat upholstery, armrests pads, side panels and tires, against defects in material and workmanship for six months from the date of purchase. Parts or materials which are subject to normal wear  and which must be replaced/repaired are the owner’s responsibility and are not covered by warranty. It is recommended that wheelchair be returned to the authorized dealer through whom it was original purchased.

If within such warranty period, any such product is proven to Karman’s satisfaction to be defective, such product shall be repaired or replaced at Karman option. In no case are goods to be returned without first obtaining an R.M.A. (Returned Merchandise Authorization) number issued by Karman and that the part in question is returned insured with freight prepaid to Karman, within the period of warranty. Labor charge incurred in the installation or repair of the above-mentioned parts plus all freight charges are not included in the warranty.

If Karman does not have a completed Warranty Registration Card on file for the consumer’s product, then a copy of the invoice with date of purchase must be provided. The warranty period for the consumer commences on the purchase date from the seller. The warranty period for the seller, if the products are not to be sold to a consumer, commences on the invoice date from Karman Healthcare. The warranty is void on wheelchairs that have had the serial # tag removed or altered.

Products which have been subject to negligence, abuse, improper storage or handling, improper operation, unauthorized modifications or misuse are not covered by this warranty. Karman Healthcare will not warrant the frame or any parts damaged when the maximum weight limit is exceeded. Warranty applies in the U.S. only.

Karman Healthcare’s sole liability extends to repair or replacement of parts or components as previously specified. The foregoing is in lieu of all warranties expressed, implied or statutory, whether written or oral.

This warranty is extended only to original purchasers of our products. Warranty is is not transferable. Parts or materials which are subject to normal wear and which must be replaced/repaired are the owner’s responsibility and are not covered by warranty. Arm pads and upholsteries are not covered by warranty. It is recommended that wheelchair be returned to the authorized dealer through whom it was original purchased.

Maddak warrants its products against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
and against breach of the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a period of
12 months from the date of original retail purchase. If you require warranty service, return
the product to your dealer or place of purchase. If additional warranty service is required,
return the prepaid product with (i) proof of purchase date, (ii) a description of the problem
and (iii) your name and address to Maddak, 6 industrial Road, Pequannock, New Jersey
07440-9988. You are responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with the
warranty service. Products found defective within the warranty period will be repaired or
replaced at the manufacturer’s option. This limited warranty does not include misuse,
abuse or alterations.
This is the exclusive remedy for any and all warranties and other claims.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitations of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to
you. Some states also do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you
specific legal rights and you may have other results which vary from state to state.
